nspired by ThinkVitamin I try to figure out a easy, fast, accessible way to display simple Data and beautify them with CSS. It needed some time and a little bit wired thinking, but It works. Works fine in FF, IE 7/6, Opera 9 tested on WIN XP.

Here's a fairly typical vertical bar graph showing a hypothetical set of quarterly data for, say, invoice and collection totals. The difference here is that the whole thing is a simple set of nested lists and CSS. Really.

Progress bars are one of those things that are horribly useful, but which always seem to be more complex to actually pull off than they should be. Fortunately, they don’t have to be hard.

Complex CSS Bar Graph

This is a more complex visualization, yet still following the same basic idea. Here the graph is a ‘bad’ to ‘good’ indicator with a marker that travels the length of the color scheme. A lighter bar shade also helps indicate the marker position as it travels from left to right.
